Upon viciously insulting the centaurs, they promptly attacked her, overpowered her, destroyed her wand and dragged her away into the forest, with Harry and Hermione barely escaping the centaurs' wrath.
Result. Dolores Umbridge carried away by the Centaurs but is later rescued by Albus Dumbledore. She is subsequently suspended from her posts at Hogwarts. The Skirmish in the Forbidden Forest was a conflict that took place in the Forbidden Forest on the grounds of Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry.
Umbridge then attacked one of the centaurs near her, and as a result, she was chased and nearly killed by them. Although she survived, her wand was snapped in half when one of the centaurs stepped on it.
With the fall of Lord Voldemort, Dolores Umbridge was put on trial for her enthusiastic co-operation with his regime, and convicted of the torture, imprisonment and deaths of several people (some of the innocent Muggle-borns she sentenced to Azkaban did not survive their ordeal).

Why was Umbridge so nasty?
Apparently, Umbridge's mother was a Muggle and her brother was a Squib – a source of huge embarrassment for the family. Perhaps their abandonment and retreat back into the Muggle world had such a huge impact on Umbridge that it became the catalyst for her Muggleborn-targeted cruelty later on in life.
The centaurs become drunk on wine and attempted to take Hippodamia, along with other Lapith women, as they pleased. Eurytus, a centaur, could not control himself when the bride, Hippodamia, was presented; he attempted to kidnap and rape her. He inspired all the drunken centaurs to attack and violate the Lapith women.
Umbridge, though frightened, shamelessly insulted the centaurs with racial slurs and her wizarding arrogance, calling them 'filthy half-breeds' and 'creatures of near-human intelligence'.
Although Umbridge was not a Death Eater, and had no direct contact with Lord Voldemort, she showed that she was fairly in line with their goals. This was due to Umbridge's callous nature and her prejudiced beliefs, both of which were similar to Death Eater behavior.
Hagrid's half-giant status also meant that Umbridge was highly prejudiced against him, viewing him as a "filthy half-breed", and so she became quite determined to get rid of him. Umbridge's biased and insulting inspections of his classes made Hagrid rather nervous, and he was soon placed on probation.
Was Umbridge a terrible person because of the Horcrux?
Despite this, some feel that her extreme cruelty in Deathly Hallows was given to the influence of Slytherin's Locket as a Horcrux, but J.K. Rowling has affirmed that this isn't the case and that the Locket couldn't worsen Umbridge as she was already such a horrible person.
Rowling revealed more information about Neville when she stated that he married Hannah Abbott, a Hufflepuff classmate, who became the landlady of the Leaky Cauldron. The couple live over the pub, a fact that Rowling thought people would find "particularly cool".
Albus Dumbledore was the only one in Hogwarts apart from Hagrid whom the centaurs respected. Despite the fact that they banished Firenze when Dumbledore persuaded him to teach Divination, the centaurs were willing to let Umbridge go because it was Dumbledore who came for her.
If you have only seen the films, you might be surprised to hear that it wasn't Cho Chang who betrayed Dumbledore's Army to Professor Umbridge – it was Marietta Edgecombe. A friend of Cho's and a fellow Ravenclaw, Marietta (reluctantly) joined the DA.
Their relationship ends when the D.A. is exposed following Marietta Edgecombe's betrayal of the group to Umbridge. Cho defends her friend's actions by saying that Marietta simply made a mistake.
In July 1997, Moody was killed by Lord Voldemort during the Battle of the Seven Potters. Moody's corpse was recovered by the Death Eaters, and his magical eye was somehow taken by Dolores Umbridge, who used it to keep track of her subordinates in the British Ministry of Magic.
Why did Harry's scar hurt when Umbridge touched him?
J. K. Rowling stated that the pain from Harry's scar on his forehead was caused by the piece of Voldemort's soul trying to leave his body through the wound it entered to rejoin its master's soul.
At some point, Umbridge received a locket as a bribe from thief Mundungus Fletcher. The pendant was actually Salazar Slytherin's locket and was, unbeknownst to her, one of Voldemort's Horcruxes. Due to Umbridge's twisted nature, the Horcrux actually amplified her magical abilities.
Well, in Umbridge's case, while she may have been working for the bad guys of bureaucracy, she was never under Voldemort's thumb. She was allied with the Death Eaters and definitely enabled them, she was never an official part of the organization.
They were ordered to register with the Muggle-Born Registration Commission, which convicted them of stealing magic from "real" wizards and witches (pure-bloods) and imprisoned them in Azkaban, though the entire trial was unfair and Muggle-borns were punished whether the evidence proved them guilty or not.

After the end of the Second Wizarding War, Cho later married a Muggle individual. She most likely kept her D.A. coin, as a badge of honour, as did other D.A. members. It can be assumed that she attended the 2014 reunion of Dumbledore's Army.
What happens to Umbridge when the centaurs take her?
The Centaurs never took this lightly and Umbridge was dragged by the raging Bane. Harry and Hermione barely escaped, and they need to thank the rampaging Grawp for the help. Umbridge seemed to be traumatized by the incident. Ron took pleasure on seeing her panic when he made hoof beat sounds.
The Centaurides (Ancient Greek: Κενταυρίδες, Kentaurides) or centauresses are female centaurs. First encountered in Greek mythology as members of the tribe of the Centauroi, the Centaurides are only occasionally mentioned in written sources, but appear frequently in Greek art and Roman mosaics.
Centaur and Human/Elven anatomy are completely incompatible and thus can not reproduce together. A possible solution would be to use Transformation Magic to shapeshift them to a humanoid form, but it's never been done before.
