At the end of the year, Severus Snape, furious over Sirius Black's escape and his resultant loss of the Order of Merlin promised to him by Cornelius Fudge, made public that Lupin was a werewolf, whereupon Lupin resigned in anticipation of the public outcry against a werewolf teaching at Hogwarts.
He was also a professor of Harry Potter (James' son) whom he taught how to conjure a corporeal Patronus, but resigned after Severus Snape revealed to the public that Remus was a werewolf. He fought against Death Eaters once more in the Second Wizarding War, during which he lost his friend Sirius.
What would have happened if Remus Lupin didn't quit as a teacher at Hogwarts? He would have been fired. He quit instead of waiting for that to happen. Thanks to the DADS curse, he couldn't have stayed in the post anyway.
The reason he and Potter aren't close is because of the werewolf. “Thanks to his inactions (not visiting him or sending him letters, etc) and the fact that he didn't make an effort to be close to the kid when he could have, he succeeded in effectively alienating himself from Potter.
His entire demeanor throughout the series suggest that Dumbledore was asexual for the rest of his long life. He died a 115 year old virgin. Lupin- Due to him being a werewolf, it's very likely he didn't lose his virginity until he met Tonks.
Until the climax of Prisoner of Azkaban, Lupin believed Sirius Black was guilty of murdering 12 Muggles, betraying Lily and James Potter, and killing Peter Pettigrew. He eventually discovered the truth — that Sirius was innocent, and the very much alive Peter was the traitor.
This may have been because of several reasons: the anti-werewolf legislation, his suspicions that his in-laws disapproved of his marriage to Tonks, or because of Tonks' pregnancy. Remus was extremely upset by the pregnancy.
Remus was extremely upset by the pregnancy. He believed that by marrying Tonks he had made her an outcast among society, because of his lycanthropy, as well as feared that he would pass on his affliction to their child.
Also, did you know that Remus had dyslexia? That's actually one of the reasons why James and Snape had this huge rivalry going on. The majority of Harry Potter fans don't know this, but Snape bullied Remus for being dyslexic when he would have trouble reading out loud in class.
Snape thought Sirius wanted to murder Harry. Snape thought Lupin was helping Sirius to sneak into Hogwarts and then yes murder Harry. So of course Snape wanted Lupin out the castle, based on the information he had he believed he was saving Harry's life.
Some were actually very good at their jobs and adored by their students. The best example of this arrived in the form of Remus Lupin during Harry Potter's third year at Hogwarts. Though he seemed a bit shabby, Professor Lupin proved himself to be a knowledgeable, affable, and incredibly skilled professor.
As a single werewolf, it is understandable that Remus could not take care of Harry after his parents died. It's also possible he was not informed where Harry was placed and thus couldn't write to him in his early years at the Dursleys.
Dumbledore's lack of belief that Sirius is innocent is also suspect. Sirius was a member of the Order of the Phoenix which fought against Death Eaters, but Sirius also was as close to James as a brother, the Potters even took him in when he ran away from home.
Why didn't Remus ever get in touch with Harry before Prisoner of Azkaban?
Because he didn't exist before Prisoner of Azkaban. Perhaps because he didn't feel it would be appropaite to do so. A lot of people like to label Remus as Harry's uncle just because he was one of James's best friends but this does not automatically make one an uncle or aunt.
In the EXCELLENT James Potter book series, by G. Norman Lippert, Tonks had already given birth to a boy before being killed in the Battle of Hogwarts. (The James Potter in the Lippert series is Harry Potter's son).
As you can read, in Nymphadora, there is also the word Nymph, which in the Wizarding World, are small magical creatures who were also used as Christmas decorations (who even sang) in Beauxbatons. Nymphs were usually flirtatious, allowing Tonks to “hate” her name a bit.
What happened to Teddy after Tonks and Lupin died?
Harry Potter was named as his godfather. Both of Teddy's parents were killed during the Battle of Hogwarts, leaving him an orphan. As a result, Teddy was raised by his maternal grandmother Andromeda, with help from his godfather. He began attending Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry in 2009.
In the end of the book, we learn that the real reason for Tonks' depression is because she has fallen in love with Lupin, who has been trying to convince her that they cannot be together because he is a werewolf.
She formed part of the Advance Guard and bravely participated in the Battle of the Seven Potters. Tonks became pregnant by this time and Remus began to worry that he had passed on his werewolf condition to their son, though this proved not to be the case as the child had inherited only Tonks's metamorphic abilities.
Unfortunately both of Teddy's parents died in the battle, leaving him an orphan and was therefore raised by his grandmother. Teddy usually spent much of his time with the Potter and Weasley families, who were also distant relatives of his through his maternal grandmother's side of the family.
And Remus was in love with Sirius (also hopelessly, because Sirius only had eyes for James). Then James was killed, Sirius was imprisoned, Remus was outcasted, and Peter was ratatouilled.
Lupin wasn't pretending. He really thought that Sirius wanted to kill Harry for the same reason Dumbledore believed it too. He believed it till the evening when he saw Peter Pettigrew with Ron in the map. Why did they mute Harry's scream?
